Let’s say you went on an explicit adventure and posted photos of it on Instagram; later, someone who might find the photos offensive decides to follow you. I need your advice. We’re going to assume that you’re close with this person, in which case you can’t put off accepting their request indefinitely. In a word, no.

Can You Backdate Instagram Posts?
Here’s why you can’t retroactively post to Instagram, which is a popular request. This is due to the fact that you only have control over the information that you enter manually in your Instagram posts. Take your caption as an example; you have complete freedom to edit the caption of any post at any time. The same holds true for adding or removing locations, editing or deleting comments, tagging or untagging other users, etc.

1. Delete the Post & Upload it Again
Instagram users who are having problems with a follower who has noticed the post’s date should remove the offending image as soon as possible. To re-upload it, follow the instructions in the following section.
These are the steps you need to take to remove a post from Instagram:
Step 1:To begin using Instagram, launch the app on your mobile device and sign in if you haven’t already.
Step 2:If you start at the beginning, the home page (yourNewsfeed menu (the, tab, orProfile by selecting theProfile icon (a miniature version of your profile picture) in the upper right hand corner of your display.
Step 3: On the Profile tab, under your profile picture, bio, and highlights you will see a gird of all your posts.
Select the desired update from the list and tap on it to see it in detail.
Step 4:To view the post in its entirety, swipe right when it appears on your screen.three-dots icon at the top right (near where your username and location are listed), and click on it.
Step 5:When you tap it, a menu will appear floating above the post, giving you a variety of ways to interact with it. The Delete choice would be at the very top of this list.
If you tap it, a confirmation message will appear to make sure you really want to proceed with this. Tap on Delete when you click the button again, the entry will be deleted from your profile.
Unlike in the past, when a post was deleted from Instagram, it can now be restored. Today, deleting a post from the platform will remove it from your profile grid but will not remove it from the platform’s archives.Relatively Recent Deletionsfor the next 30 days folder. So, if you delete something and then change your mind, you can retrieve it from that folder for a limited time.

2. Archive the Post
Archiving is the best option if you don’t want to delete or re-upload this particular post but still want to hide the publication date from your followers. For however long you specify, the post will be removed from your profile. This is how to archive a post if you’ve never done it before.
Step 1:If you haven’t already, launch the Instagram app and sign in to your account on your mobile device.
Step 2:You will eventually reach theHome I’ll start with the tabs. To access your profile picture, locate the small version of it in the lower right corner of the screen and tap on it.Profile tab.
Step 3:Once you crack open theProfile To the right of the tab, you’ll see a grid containing all of your posts in reverse chronological order.
Select the entry you wish to save to your archive by tapping on it in this grid.
Step 4:When you expand the post to full screen, you’ll notice athree-dots icon in the top right of your screen, next to where your username and location are listed. With a tap, you can access a secondary menu that floats above the main screen.
Step 5:As you can see, the options on this drop-down menuArchive position 2 would be reserved for the option. To permanently remove your post from view, tap on it and then confirm the removal.
In any case, you now know the answer. You can find a copy of the post you just deleted in your archive section.
