It wouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to empty your entire DM section at once.
You haven’t been getting the full experience if you haven’t done anything like this with your own account before. To rectify this, we have provided a detailed guide on how to select multiple messages at once and delete them.
The steps are as follows:
Step 1:If you haven’t already, launch the Instagram app on your mobile device and sign in to your account.
Step 2:Once you click on the tab, you’ll be brought to theHomea tabbed interface in which the home icon is located at the bottom of the screen in the form of a vertically-aligned row.
In the upper right corner of your display, you’ll see a little envelope icon. A trip to your destination is necessary in order toDMsSelect this little message icon and tab over to the next tab.
Step 3:After getting on theDMs when you open the tab, you’ll see that it’s broken up into three sections:Primary, General, and Requests.
First, select the folder from which you want to remove all messages. Once you’ve decided, tap the appropriate group to access its conversation thread.
Step 4:In the top right corner of this tab, you’ll now find two icons: one for creating a new message and another for viewing or creating a list. Use the list icon at your disposal.
Step 5:Then, after the button is pressed,listBy clicking the icon, little circles will appear next to each conversation in the list.
Step 6:If you tap one of these circles, the conversation next to it will be highlighted in blue and a white tick will appear inside the circle.
You can do more than just delete these messages, so think twice before selecting them all. You can also choose to ignore, flag, or mark these conversations as unread (for yourself).
Step 5:Before you go through and delete every direct message (DM) that you’ve received, make sure you’ve checked all of your circles. When that happens, a red bar will appear at the bottom of the display.Deleteclickable number of messages indicated by a bracket next to the button.
Step 6:After selecting theDeleteWhenever you click a link or a button on your computer, a confirmation dialogue box will pop up to ensure that you really want to proceed with that action. The moment you touch it,DeleteIf you check this box, the selected messages will be deleted from yourDMs tab.
Keep in mind that you can only delete one section from yourDMsquickly tab through multiple tabs. Assuming you’ve made it pastPrimarysection, do the same thing again, this time with theGeneral and Requestsparagraphs, and yourDMbe emptied out or taken empty.
2. Delete All Instagram Messages (Personal & Private Account)
We’re sorry to say that Instagram private account holders can’t select multiple conversations at once. Also, it makes perfect sense once you consider it. Instagram users who are only interested in sharing their personal lives wouldn’t benefit from having access to this feature because they rarely need to perform such bulk options.
