How to Put Highlights on Instagram Without Story

Improve Instagram Highlights Without Posting:Using Instagram Stories is a great way to grow your following, attract new followers, and keep in touch with the people who already follow you. Unfortunately, Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours, which can be a bummer.

There is a new feature on Instagram called Story Highlights that allows you to easily view someone else’s older Instagram Stories and preserves your own for the ages.

The highlight function lets you collate both older stories and selected excerpts from more recent ones.

It adds a more complete picture to your profile and makes you more appealing to potential employers. If you want to direct Instagram users to your website or a video you’ve posted on YouTube, you can do that too.

Remember that in order to add a story to highlight, your story must first be seen by someone and must be live for 24 hours.

However, many Instagrammers would like the option to share highlights from their camera roll or post photos that didn’t make the cut to their story.

The good news is… There’s a new trick where you can highlight without publishing the whole story.

This tutorial will show you how to add highlights to Instagram without using the story feature.

How to Put Highlights on Instagram Without Story

Step 1: Make Your Profile Private

Making your profile private is the first and most crucial step. You should make your profile private for at least 24 hours if it is currently public. If, however, you already have a private account, you can skip this and go on to the next one.

Specifically, you can do so by

  • Launch Instagram and then select your profile picture from the menu that appears.
  • To access preferences, click the gear icon (it looks like three horizontal lines) and then click Settings.
  • To hide your account details from other people in your connections, go to settings and tap on privacy.
  • Make your profile invisible to the public by toggling the “private account” switch.

Step 2: Change Story Settings

The switch to a private account will require you to modify your story’s privacy settings to make it visible only to close friends while hiding it from everyone else.

The steps are as follows:

  • To access Instagram’s settings, launch the app and select the cogwheel icon (three dots).
  • In order to modify your settings, please scroll down to the privacy menu and click on story.
  • With a single tap, you can see a full rundown of who you’re following and who you’ve chosen to hide your story from.
  • Here, you’ll have to pick your followers one by one by tapping their names.
  • Click the checkbox when you’re done.

Step 3: Start Uploading Stories

Following these steps, you will be able to begin uploading your stories, and as you may be aware, we already hide stories from the followers. You’ll only have to hold out for a day now.

Step 4: Add Story to Highlight

The next step is to create a new highlight by tapping the story option and then choosing the highlight option from the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Also, remember that you can’t remove your story for at least 24 hours after it’s been posted. In the event that you remove it, it will also be removed from the highlights.

5. Last Unblock Followers

  • To access the privacy settings, go into the settings menu and scroll down.
  • By making a selection, you can modify the story’s parameters.
  • It’s necessary to manually deselect followers after tapping the Hide story from option.

It’s possible that your story won’t appear in the highlight if you don’t wait the required 24 hours or if you delete it before then.
