Every once in a while, you run into someone online that you absolutely cannot stand and wish to immediately cut off all contact with. If you can’t avoid someone in the real world, escaping them online is as simple as clicking a few buttons. The quickest (and rudest) way to cut someone off your digital life is to block them. But the convenience with which you can block someone online can also lead to complications.
Hasty judgments frequently result in unwelcome second thoughts. As a Snapchat user, you should exercise extreme caution before blocking anyone.
When you block someone on Snapchat, they will no longer appear in your friend list, and you will no longer be able to communicate with them. Without a backup, you will lose not only the chat but any messages you may have found particularly useful.
You’ve come to the right place if you’ve been wondering where Snapchat has stashed your conversations with people you’ve blocked. Here we’ll talk about whether or not these messages can be recovered, and if so, how. In that case, keep reading to find out more.
What happens when I block someone on Snapchat?
When you block a user on Snapchat, all of your previous interactions with that user are immediately terminated. When you block someone on Snapchat, the following things will occur:
- Both of your friend lists will be deleted, as will theirs if the person is deleted from yours.
- Both you and your friend will lose access to any previous conversations with that person.
- You have lost sight of their history and allure, and they of yours.
They have blocked you on Snapchat, and you no longer have access to their account. In this case, a search using the username would return no results.
These characteristics are designed to minimize your contact with that person, making it easier to put them out of your mind. However, if you want to make sure you don’t lose any crucial information, you may not find a simple solution.
But isn’t there a way out of this? This question has a positive answer. Okay, let’s get started on this right away.
Is it Possible to See My Saved Messages With Someone I Blocked on Snapchat?
Let us be straightforward with you. Snapchat makes it difficult to access saved conversations with people who have been blocked.
It appears that there are only two methods for unblocking someone’s access to your saved messages.
- By removing the obstacles in their way
- Through the process of data download
You may feel awkward about re-establishing contact with the person you have blocked. Unfortunately, you’ll have to pay this price if you want to read a blocked user’s archived messages. But it’s not like they’ll realize it right away, so there’s no real cause for alarm.
The second approach is more time-consuming and intricate than the first. Let’s go over the pros and cons of each option so you can pick the one that works best for you.
Method #1: Unblock the user
Unblocking that person will allow you to reopen your chats with them and read their previous messages. Unblocking will allow you to access your archived messages.
Step 1:Start up Snapchat and sign in.
Step 2: The Camera menu will load automatically. To access your profile, simply tap your Bitmoji in the top left corner.
Step 3:To adjust your profile settings, click the cogwheel in the upper right corner of your profile page.
Step 4:To do this, go to the very bottom of the Settings page and scroll down. We plan to include a Blocked option near the end of the list. Select this tab to view a list of all blocked contacts.
Step 5: The people you have blocked will be displayed. Keep in mind the user’s name, and then click the cross to remove the block.
Step 6:To find the user again, just return to the Camera tab and type their name into the search bar. Tap the user’s name in the search results to immediately enter a conversation with them.
That settles the matter. Previously archived messages are now accessible. Once you’ve read the messages, you can block the sender again.
Method #2: Download your data
If the user has restricted who can send them messages, the first approach may fail. In that case, you can use this method to access any previous conversations you had with the person who has blocked you.
Step 1: Apply steps 1-5to allow access to the user once again via the previous technique.
Step 2: The My Data option has been moved to the bottom of your account’s Settings page. Select this alternative by clicking on it.
Step 3: You’ll be taken to Snapchat’s Accounts page, where you can enter your Snapchat credentials to access your account. Once you’ve entered your username and password, click the Log In button.
Step 4: On the My Data page, look all the way down. Simply enter the email address to which you’d like the Snapchat data ZIP file sent. Select the Submit Request button.
In less than a day, your file will be ready for review.
Step 5: Your Snapchat data is now available for download and you will receive an email with that subject line. To get your file, just open this email and click the link.
Step 6: A link labeled “Your File is Ready” will lead you to the document you’re looking for. To be specific, the name of the file is mydata12345678900.zip.
To obtain a file, just click on its name.
Step 7: Do an extraction to get the data out. Navigate to the html folder and open the chat_history.html file. You can access your archived chats from this folder.
When you block someone on Snapchat, none of your previous exchanges with them will appear in your Chats history. In addition, recovering the deleted messages may seem like an uphill battle.
In this post, we’ll go over how to view your saved messages with a person you’ve blocked on Snapchat. Even after blocking a user, there are still ways to view their messages.
